Zealots in multistate noisy voter models

چکیده

The noisy voter model is a stylized representation of opinion dynamics. Individuals copy opinions from other individuals, and are subject to spontaneous state changes. In the case two states this known have noise-driven transition between unimodal phase, in which both present, bimodal one dominates. presence zealots can remove phases with states. Here we study effects models $M>2$ on complete interaction graphs. We find that phase behavior diversifies, up six possible qualitatively different types stationary removes some these phases, but not all. analyze situations affect entire population, or only fraction agents, show situation corresponds single-community fractional number zealots, further enriching diagram. Our conducted analytically based effective birth-death dynamics for individuals holding given opinion. Results confirmed numerical simulations.

Nonlinear $q$-voter model with inflexible zealots

We study the dynamics of the nonlinear q-voter model with inflexible zealots in a finite well-mixed population. In this system, each individual supports one of two parties and is either a susceptible voter or an inflexible zealot. At each time step, a susceptible adopts the opinion of a neighbor if this belongs to a group of q≥2 neighbors all in the same state, whereas inflexible zealots never ...

The noisy voter model on complex networks

We propose a new analytical method to study stochastic, binary-state models on complex networks. Moving beyond the usual mean-field theories, this alternative approach is based on the introduction of an annealed approximation for uncorrelated networks, allowing to deal with the network structure as parametric heterogeneity. As an illustration, we study the noisy voter model, a modification of t...

Cutoff for the Noisy Voter Model

Given a continuous time Markov Chain {q(x, y)} on a finite set S, the associated noisy voter model is the continuous time Markov chain on {0,1}S , which evolves in the following way: (1) for each two sites x and y in S, the state at site x changes to the value of the state at site y at rate q(x, y); (2) each site rerandomizes its state at rate 1. We show that if there is a uniform bound on the ...

Mixing of the Noisy Voter Model

We prove that the noisy voter model mixes extremely fast – in time of O(logn) on any graph with n vertices – for arbitrarily small values of the ‘noise parameter’. We then explain why, as a result, this is an example of a spin system that is always in the ‘high-temperature regime’.

Multistate Models in Health Insurance

We illustrate how multistate Markov and semi-Markov models can be used for the actuarial modeling of health insurance policies, focussing on health insurances that are pursued on a similar technical basis to that of life insurance. On the basis of the general modeling framework of Helwich (2008), we study examples of permanent health insurance, critical illness insurance, long term care insuran...
